This Yarchen Gar Divine Blue Water Incense Powder is made in Baiyu County in Kardze, eastern Tibet by Yarchen Gar Monastery. Many of Yarchen Gar’s residents are female, giving the community its nickname, the City of Nuns. It is made according a centuries old secret formula passed down from Padmasambhava. It is said that the 38th Tibetan King, Trisong Detsen, once suffered from an illness caused by natural disaster and plague inflicted upon his kingdom. Guru Rinpoche recommended this particular incense blend to help the environment and in turn he recovered from his illness. This incense is made with over 30 substances including high altitude cypress leaves, various flowers, mulberries, herbs, spring water, saffron, red and white sandalwood, etc. This incense can be used as an offering substance for the Divine Blue Water practice by Padmasambhava.
The Incense Stick aims to provide the best Tibetan style incense that is made from only pure herbal ingredients that are compounded from various plant products such as leaves, twigs and resins. These are collected, powdered and turned into sticks and incense powders following an age old traditional Tibetan Buddhist process. Unlike mass produced and artificially scented incense, Tibetan style incense produces a complex earthy natural scent.
