Colección: Thangtong Gyalpo

Thangtong Gyalpo was a well revered Vajrayana master and Mahasidda that traveled extensively throughout Tibet, China, and other countries in the region building temple, iron bridges, and monasteries in Dergé.  Thankgtong Gyalpo is said to be a mind emanation of Guru Rinpoche. While meditating in Tsang in Tibet, it is said that Thangtong Gyalpo was saw five dakinis that sang the following song to him;

“On the great spreading plain
The yogin who understands emptiness
Sits like a fearless king
Thus we name him King of the Empty Plain.”

Thangtong Gyalpo is also considered to be one of the 84 Mahasiddhas, or great adepts, in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.
